PSYCHIATRIST
Angela Smyth, MD
Dr. Smyth is a Board Certified Psychiatrist, specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. With over 20 years of experience working in the field of pediatric neurodevelopmental and behavioral health, she has expertise in a full range of psychiatric problems including ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and eating disorders. Dr. Smyth provides psychiatric assessment and treatment based on the most recent evidence-based medicine.
Dr. Smyth completed her medical training, residency and fellowship at the University of Chicago. She has worked in a variety of treatment facilities, including academic medical centers, community psychiatry, in-patient facilities, and private practice. For ten years she was the Associate Director of the Eating and Weight Disorders Program at the University of Chicago and Clinical Associate in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Currently, Dr. Smyth offers treatment in her Chicago office to young adults, adolescents, and children with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal disorders.
PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER
Jen Offen, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC
Jen has served patients as a nurse practitioner since 2013 and as a registered nurse since 2009. She is board certified as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with training from Johns Hopkins University and as a Family Nurse Practitioner with training from the University of Illinois at Chicago. With experience in various settings, including inpatient hospitals, primary care, urgent care, and a mobile RV clinic, Jen approaches patient care with a holistic perspective.
Her practice emphasizes understanding the unique challenges of each patient, working collaboratively with children and parents to ensure comfort when initiating a mental health treatment plan. Jen is equipped to treat children, adolescents, and adults facing a broad spectrum of mental health issues such as ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and behavioral challenges. She is committed to providing a welcoming environment for all individuals, including those who have experienced cultural and social marginalization, and is committed to providing inclusive, affirming care.

Emmy is the first point of contact for our patients. While you may only interact with her via email and the phone, her warmth and compassion will make questions and scheduling a breeze. She is quick to respond and can usually fit returning patients into our schedule within a few days.
